The name Rhema Logos Counseling reflects two Greek words found in Scripture. Logos refers to God’s eternal truth and wisdom, while Rhema speaks of God’s personal, life-giving word applied to our lives. Together, they represent my desire to offer counseling that is grounded in truth, promotes healing, and helps clients find hope, purpose, and restoration.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy designed to help people heal from trauma and other distressing life experiences. It can also be helpful for anxiety, negative beliefs about yourself, grief, and other emotional wounds. If EMDR is appropriate for your situation, we’ll discuss the process together before beginning.

Trauma isn’t defined only by major life events. It can also result from ongoing experiences such as emotional neglect, chronic criticism, abuse, difficult relationships, or significant losses. Signs may include anxiety, emotional numbness, difficulty trusting others, feeling “stuck,” people-pleasing, perfectionism, hypervigilance, or strong emotional reactions that seem difficult to explain. Therapy can help identify these patterns and support healing.
-
Yes. Many adults continue to experience the effects of growing up in emotionally unhealthy family systems. Together, we can work to understand these patterns, establish healthy boundaries, process unresolved pain, strengthen your sense of identity, and develop healthier relationships moving forward.

The relationship between therapist and client is one of the strongest predictors of successful therapy. During our consultation and first few sessions, we’ll determine whether my approach fits your needs. If I believe another provider would better serve you, I’ll gladly provide referrals to help you find the right fit.
-
You don’t have to have all the answers before beginning therapy. Sometimes clients simply know that something isn’t working or that they’re tired of carrying everything on their own. That’s enough. We’ll work together to gain clarity, identify goals, and take meaningful steps toward healing and lasting change.
